Vinyl is the name of the game here, with weekly events featuring local and international DJs playing a variety of genres, but with jazz at the core. This serves to enhance the welcoming feel of this neighbourhood spot, rather than ever being intrusive, and pairs perfectly with a beautifully constructed cocktail list. Hi Balls are varied and interesting, such as the Drenched Se7entifive, with gin, jasmine, lemon vermouth and cremant sparkling wine. Lo Balls, meanwhile are all served without ice or on a single large cube. There’s a separate Negroni section, and well as a selection of non-alcoholic No Alcoballs. Unpretentious but with a flawless offering, Bird is a near perfect local, and you can take some of its classics home in bottled form too.
