A third-generation neighbourhood joint claims to be the oldest family run Italian restaurant in London, serving regional specialities since 1967. Chef Eduardo Chiavarini (who has worked the kitchen here for almost 30 years) does a mean line in comforting classics from the Emilia-Romagna region, giving plenty of air time to its culinary superstars: parmesan, parma ham and aged balsamic vinegar. Much of the menu is sourced from the family’s farm in Kent, which is still run by the restaurant’s founder, Pino Chiavarini. Tuck into the likes of veal Milanese, pappardelle with pork belly and monkfish soup while tippling from a well-priced, Italian-focused wine list.
