One of Italy’s best-stocked tequila and mezcal bars, La Punta Expendio de Agave is a little taste of Mexico in Rome. Dimly lit, with a bar made of colourful Mexican-style tiles and stools stitched with colourful embroidered prints, it’s both vibrant and cosy. Downstairs is La Punta’s smaller drinking den, decked out in bright Mexican paraphernalia and an impression collection of tequilas. The team – also behind fellow Rome bars Jerry Thomas Speakeasy and Freni e Frizioni – spent time in Oaxaca in Mexico researching the menus. Drinks are exceptional – and authentic – as a result and cover a broad range of styles and flavours all while championing tequila and mezcal.
