Mix is very much a part of its local area, the Keyes Art Mile in Johannesburg’s Rosebank. Among the art precinct’s design stores and galleries, Mix showcases its own selection of South African contemporary art, with an ever-changing selection on the walls of this modern bar, located within Mesh members’ club. The views from its windows are no less compelling, with the bar placing a serious emphasis on drinks at sundown. Cocktails here are an artform too, with a compelling list of twists on classics such as a Net Nou Nie Negroni with the addition of sour figs, or a Paloma with vanilla and Pink Pepper. A dedication to music completes the picture, with regular events such as the weekly Jazz Club Sessions. A great spot for brunch too.
