Prune has been an East Village fixture since 1999 and it’s showing no sign of falling out of favour with Manhattan’s beautiful people. Gabrielle Hamilton’s cooking oozes confident class. Simple dishes such as grilled shrimp in anchovy butter and tomato and blue cheese toast achieve a level of elegance that many showier chefs can only dream of. And classic cocktails are executed with aplomb – the icing on what is already a very attractive cake.
