Sketch
London, UK
True to its name, Sketch is all about art. Every room in the 18th-century townhouse is individually adorned with quirky features, from the spaceship loos to the fairy-tale forest-themed Glade bar. A gastro-brasserie sits in the Gallery, which is decorated wall-to-wall pink, with velvet and leather seats and 200 prints by visual artist David Shrigley. The à la carte menu takes in soufflé, Cornish langoustines and beef tartare, while the afternoon tea is one of the most extravagant in London, with caviar ‘egg and soldiers’ and lemon marshmallow petits gateaux. It transforms into a cocktail lounge come the evening. Sketch also houses the Michelin two-star Lecture Room and Library.
