Spanglish
Miami, US
Much like the mash up of cultures that has led to Spanglish becoming the unofficial language of Miami, this Wynwood bar blends diverse influences into a glorious, cohesive whole. The setting is art deco, drawing on this era’s architecture everywhere from New York to Havana, and in Miami too, and embodied in art deco-inspired artwork by Tatiana Suarez, and accompanied by street art in the form of prohibition-era posters and graffiti by Brazilian artist Tiago Magro. Showmanship is an artform here too, with flair bartenders flipping bottles while they create an array of instagrammable cocktails such as the Cafetera Old Fashioned, containing 1888 Aged Rum, cigar bitters and cold brew coffee reduction, served from a coffee moka pot. There’s an epic collection of sipping spirits on offer, including rums from around the world, mezcals and tequilas, and an array of whiskies too.
