Chicago's Gold Coast doesn't have many reliable cocktail joints, but Sparrow changed that when it opened in 2015. Housed in a gorgeous Art Deco building that was constructed in 1927, the decadent bar is a reimagining of the lobby bar of the same name that existed in the same space in the '20s. They call it a neighborhood bar, and while it does serve the locals well, its alluring atmosphere and upscale cocktails elevate the place to destination status. The beverage programme focuses on Cuban classics and original concoctions inspired by the flavors of the Caribbean. A wide assortment of rums in house mean it's a great option for any rum fan regardless of your preferred region of origin. Note: there is no food at the bar, and no reservations either.
