Internationally renowned chefs including Ana Roš, Andreas Caminada, Janaina Rueda and Dave Pynt will be cooking as part of the 50 Best Collaboration Dining Series, running from Friday 15th July through to Tuesday 19th July. The events form part of the overall programme for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 in London this summer
Attention all food lovers! Some of the finest chefs on the planet will be cooking in leading London restaurants this July alongside the capital’s own elite culinary talent. The 50 Best Collaboration Dining Series sees eight unique gastronomic experiences made available to hungry diners in the days before, and immediately following, the announcement of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 list, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, on 18th July.
Match-ups include acclaimed Shoreditch destination Brat hosting the team from Elkano in Getaria, northern Spain (No.16 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 list) – the legendary restaurant that helped inspire chef Tomos Parry to open his own seafood grill. Covent Garden favourite Frog by Adam Handling will welcome chef Nick Bril from The Jane in Antwerp (No.66 in 2021) for a multi-course feast complete with wine and cocktail pairings.
Meanwhile, World’s 50 Best regular Lyle’s (No.33 in 2021) will celebrate with a six-hands dinner featuring Dave Pynt of Burnt Ends in Singapore (No.34 in 2021) and Elena Reygadas, chef-owner of Rosetta in Mexico City and former winner of the Latin America’s Best Female Chef award. High-end Japanese restaurant Endo at the Rotunda will also team up with Natsuko Shoji of Été in Tokyo, current holder of the Asia’s Best Female Chef title, to open the series on Friday 15th July.
This 50 Best series is designed to celebrate the return of international travel and the recovery of the hospitality sector, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and highlighting the array of culinary talent converging on London for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards. Marking the 20th anniversary of the prestigious annual gastronomic ranking, the 50 Best event programme will be hosted in the UK for this first time since 2015, after six years of moving around the globe.

Endo at the Rotunda x Été
When: Dinner on Friday 15th July (two sittings: 6pm and 9pm)
Where: Endo at the Rotunda, 8th Floor, The Helios, 101 Wood Lane, London W12
Who: Endo Kazutoshi opened his debut restaurant on the top floor of The Helios building – part of the former Television Centre in White City – in 2019 after heading up the sushi programme at global Japanese brand Zuma for almost a decade. It’s a 10-seat-only counter, so guests will witness Kazutoshi-san and Asia’s Best Female Chef Natsuko Shoji prepare their dishes up close. The latter has a similarly exclusive restaurant, Été in Tokyo, which seats just six guests. Expect exquisite presentation, including Shoji-san’s world-renowned fashion-inspired desserts.
What else: A 10-course omakase menu will be served – five from each chef – priced at £300 per person, without drinks. A drinks pairing will be available at a price to be confirmed.

Goddard & Gibbs x Restaurant Tim Raue
When: Lunch on Saturday 16th July
Where: Goddard & Gibbs, One Hundred Shoreditch, Shoreditch High Street, London E1
Who: Tim Raue is the chef-owner of Restaurant Tim Raue in Berlin, which has featured on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for almost a decade. Raue, who has been the subject of a Netflix Chef’s Table episode, delivers Asian-accented dishes that are healthy and light – using no refined sugar, dairy or gluten – but highly flavourful. He will join forces with the team at brand new fish-forward restaurant Goddard & Gibbs, led by head chef Tom Moore, to create a punchy seafood-led set lunch menu.
What else: 4-course seafood menu for £90.

Sabor x Hiša Franko
When: Dinner on Saturday 16th July
Where: Sabor, 35-37 Heddon Street, London W1
Who: Former World’s Best Female Chef Ana Roš of Hiša Franko in Slovenia (No.21 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021) has become one of the globe’s most in-demand chefs. At the same time, Bilbao-born Nieves Barragan, formerly of Barrafina and now chef-patron of Sabor, has become a culinary star in her adopted city of London. These two super-talented chefs will bring together Spanish and Slovenian dishes for a one-off feast in the intimate upstairs space of Barragan’s atmospheric central London restaurant.
What else: There are barely 20 spots available for this special evening, priced at £250 person for 12 courses, so fans will need to move fast.

Trivet x Schloss Schauenstein
When: Dinner on Saturday 16th July
Where: Trivet, 36 Snowsfields, London SE1
Who: Trivet is the understated but high-quality restaurant from former Fat Duck duo Jonny Lake and Isa Bal in Bermondsey. Schloss Schauenstein is the dining destination located in a Swiss castle helmed by revered chef Andreas Caminada. Expect a once-in-a-lifetime 10-course menu, plus snacks and canapes, and a very special wine pairing. Wine lovers take note: both restaurants are as well known for their standout cellars as they are for their stellar food.
What else: £180 per person for food only, with an optional (but not that optional) wine pairing to come.

Lyle’s x Burnt Ends x Rosetta
When: Dinner on Saturday 16th July
Where: Lyle’s, Tea Building, 56 Shoreditch High St, London E1
Who: Lyle’s has long been one of the few UK restaurants to make the The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list and chef James Lowe will be cooking with old friends Dave Pynt and Elena Reygadas, both of whom worked in London in a previous life. Each has gone on to international success with their own places: Pynt at barbecue mecca Burnt Ends in Singapore and Reygadas at the beautiful Rosetta in Mexico City. At this six-hands celebration, expect combinations such as eel with peas and raw beef with caviar, not to mention a Mexican avocado and fermented plum dessert.
What else: The menu is priced at £95 per person, with additional wine pairing at a further £85 each.

Brat x Elkano
When: Dinner on Saturday 16th July (two sittings: 6pm and 8pm)
Where: Brat, 4 Redchurch St, London E1
Who: Basque grill restaurant Elkano, on the northern Spanish coast near San Sebastian, was founded by Pedro Arregui in 1964. More recently, his son Aitor has elevated it from a regional favourite to an iconic international destination that sits high in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking. It shares a culinary philosophy and sensibility with the brilliant Brat (No.84 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021) – which takes its name from the old English word for turbot, the fish both restaurants are most famous for. Expect a serious grill-off involving Brat chef Tomos Parry, Elkano head chef Pablo Vicari and Aitor Arregui himself.

Where: Hélène Darroze at The Connaught, The Connaught Hotel, Carlos Pl, London W1K 2AL
Who: Winner of The World’s Best Female Chef title in 2015, Hélène Darroze is a globally respected culinary figure – as well as the inspiration for the character of Colette in the 2007 film Ratatouille. To pay tribute to Antoine Alléno, recently deceased son of her friend Yannick Alléno, she will be hosting three multi-award-winning chefs in her kitchen for a special charity lunch. Massimo Bottura of previous World’s Best Restaurant Osteria Francescana needs no introduction, and will be joined by Alexandre Mazzia of AM par Alexandre Mazzia – the latest winner of the American Express One To Watch Award – to create the savoury courses, while desserts will be in the expert hands of Jessica Préalpato, The World’s Best Pastry Chef 2019.
What else: £650 per person for the unique six-course menu, including wine pairing. Proceeds will be donated to a new charity that chef Yannick Alléno is creating in his son’s name.

Frog x The Jane

Where: Frog by Adam Handling, 34-35 Southampton St, London WC2
Who: Nick Bril is a rising star of European cuisine whose restaurant, The Jane, is housed in a stunning former chapel in Antwerp. Adam Handling is the Scottish-born chef making a gastronomic mark in the UK capital. Together they will cook up a storm at Handling’s Covent Garden flagship, starting with aperitivos, moving on to a multi-course extravaganza, and winding up with a party at the venue’s Eve cocktail bar downstairs, no doubt with part-time house DJ Bril on the decks.
What else: £250 per person for the extensive four-hands tasting menu (including cocktail), with a £125 wine pairing.

Da Terra x A Casa do Porco
When: Dinner on Tuesday 19th July
Where: Da Terra, 8 Patriot Square, London E2
Who: A Casa do Porco (No.17 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021), which translates from Portuguese as House of the Pig, is a sensational spot in São Paulo that explores everything porcine – from pork sushi to crispy pork belly. Husband-and-wife chefs Jefferson and Janaina Rueda land in London to cook with fellow Brazilian Rafael Cagali at his superb two-Michelin-star Da Terra in Bethnal Green. Expect a mix of the refined and the sumptuous delivered with a distinct South American swagger – and plenty of pig.
