Kenta Goto’s eponymous bar takes a playful Japanese spin on modern cocktails, drawing plenty of adoration from locals and out-of-towners alike. Goto, who spent a number of years at World’s 50 Best Bars regular Pegu Club, twists up drinks with the distinct flavours of matcha, sake and shochu. And the bar’s take on Japanese comfort food includes spicy miso sauces and street food favourite okonomiyaki. Tiny, at just 30 seats, it smacks of understated elegance with amber lights, dark walls and wooden fixtures. Wafting over it all is the relaxed Van Morrison-inspired soundtrack and those heady scents of ginger, pickle and soy.
