Belon
Hong Kong, China
- No.25 Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2021
- Asia's Highest Climber 2019
Belon is a neo-Parisian bistro showcasing technique-driven French dishes by chef Matthew Kirkley. The restaurant, which moved to a new home in March 2021, is a hushed, modernist dining room on Lower Elgin Street – a break from the bright and classical look of its previous location, reflecting Kirkley’s spirit and impact on the venue. Love and attention are given to every dish: the foie gras tartlet with sauternes wine is a must, as is the famous whole-roasted three yellow chicken with petits pois à la française. After its Asia’s 50 Best debut in 2018, the venue has since also appeared on The World's 50 Best Restaurants' extended 51-100 list and is a favourite spot for locals and tourists alike.
