Helmed by industry veteran Philip Bischoff, formerly of Manhattan in Singapore, BKK Social Club has quickly become the one of the hottest spots in Bangkok for cocktails. Emulating the bars of the 1970s and 80s in Buenos Aires, old-school luxury is a priority here, with ceilings adorned with cascading chandeliers and grand horticultural displays. It isn’t all show and no go, though. Utilising his decades’ experience, Bischoff has crafted a menu that matches its South American décor. The Tigre – a blend of pisco, Yerba Mate tea, pineapple, passionfruit, sugar, lemon, spices and milk – is an homage to the expansive larder of South America. The bartenders, decorated in pristine white jackets, are masters of service, repeatedly crafting a list of signature cocktails with profound consistency. Also housing one of the city’s finest collections of American whiskeys, amaros and vermouths, BKK can tackle any cocktail request, while also running a fine selection of pre-bottled serves. A glorious cigar terrace is an added boon that adds to the theatre.
