The Bangkok outpost of luxury hotel group Capella is the home of Stella, a lavish, luxurious space that combines a cocktail bar with a patisserie – to excellent effect. On entering this impressive space you’re greeted with art-deco inspired design, a formidable marble bar, and spectacular views of the river. The bespoke cocktail menu is inspired by heroines from four countries, namely Thailand, India, Japan and China. Thai warrior Khun Ying Mo, for example, is immortalised in three drinks, such as the Brave Lady, made with Thai Rum, mango cordial, and a citrus and spice blend. The accompanying pastry in this section, created by Stella’s chef patissier, celebrates the cacao and coffee of northern Thailand. To explore the latter further, there’s a dessert omakase experience available, complete with cocktail pairing.
