Danico
Paris, France
Located behind pizza palace Daroco Bourse, Danico is housed in the former Jean Paul Gaultier flagship store. Its barmen’s nautical striped shirts are a fitting homage to the fashion designer. Brooklyn vibes abound in the high-ceilinged space: think quirky wallpaper, velvet furnishings and a herringbone marble bar, while the soundtrack comprises upbeat ‘80s tracks. Opened by Nico de Soto – owner of New York’s influential cocktail mecca Mace – the artisanal 12-cocktail menu is not for the faint-hearted: ‘La Myrtille’, a turbo-charged kir royale, contains Pierre Ferrand cognac fat-washed with hazelnut butter and infused with tonka beans.
