What's the style? While the core of the food at Odette is predominantly French at heart, chef-patron Julien Royer has been in Singapore since 2008, and openly embraces the use of ingredients and techniques commonly found in Asia. You’ll often find Japanese fish and citrus featuring on his menu, or even a salad where all the herbs and leaves are grown in a local farm. No ingredient is truly off limits, as long as the quality is up to the chefs’ exacting standards.
Signature dishes: Odette has a wide repertoire, so it don’t be suprised to see the dining table next to you experiencing a completely different menu. But if it is your first time to the restaurant, the Rosemary Smoked Organic Egg and Heirloom Beetroot Variation are two signatures that must feature.
A destination location: The restaurant is housed in the iconic National Gallery of Singapore, a museum dedicated to art and culture. If you are planning to dine here, be sure to allocate time to walk through the museum as well, since there are always new exhibitions on display.
What makes Odette so special? Having attained the much coveted No.1 spot on the Asia’s 50 Best list in both 2019 and 2020, the magic of Odette is evident for all diners to see, not just through the delicious food, but also its incredible service team, which makes every guest feel at ease in the restaurant.
Bonus point: Pastry chef Louisa Lim, a behind-the-scenes talent in the Odette kitchen for a number of years, has been named Asia’s Best Pastry Chef 2023, sponsored by Valrhona. Expect, therefore, some sumptuous dessert offerings to round out the exquisite Odette experience.
