An elegant waterfront restaurant and terrace that is still as much of a favourite with baby boomers as it was when it burst onto the scene more than 30 years ago. Founders Ruth Rogers and the late Rose Gray were obsessive in their pursuit of seasonality and provenance at a time when neither was fashionable. Daily changing menus showcase British ingredients prepared with Italian flare. Think asparagus glistening with anchovy butter, wood-roasted Scottish langoustine and handmade pasta with parmesan and nettles. An all-Italian wine list includes plenty of interesting regional pours, including several from Lazio.
