The Stonewall Inn
New York, US
Manhattan’s Stonewall Inn has a storied history dating back to 1930, and is best known as the place where Pride began, following the Stonewall Riots of 1969. Since then it’s burned down, been rebuilt, and declared a National Historic Landmark. The current incarnation opened in 2007 and is a lively party space with a choice of two bars and an upstairs dance floor. There’s a packed schedule of events to choose from, from piano bar evenings with singing waitstaff and bartenders, to drag diva performances. The venue also operates its own nonprofit organisation to support LGBTQ communities and individuals.
