As you descend into this very classy basement bar, you’re transported to Mexico, to the very best that the country’s mezcalerias has to offer. Decor is rustic, traditional and yet very premium, this is a compelling, atmospheric space, with stone walls and succulents decorating the backbar. The innovative cocktail list is a highlight here, showcasing Mexican spirits in a forward-thinking way, and featuring an impressive selection, not only made from agave, but gins, whiskies and rums from Mexico too. The cocktails highlight pairs of ingredients, such as Sorrel & Hop or Apple & Beetroot, in two drinks each, one with an agave spirit. Cucumber & Pine feature in a tequila-based Martini, as well as a whisky-based Highball, for example. The accompanying antojitos, or small dishes, are exceptional too, of course.
