Despite its location in the colonial-era Keong Siak vicinity, this intimate spot has the feel of a Parisian bistro thanks to white tablecloths and maroon banquettes. However, Nicolas Joany’s passport is filled with stamps from as far afield as Africa, Italy and Japan, and influences from all have crept into tasting menus that change every fortnight. It may not be as famous as some of Singapore’s other fine-dining French restaurants, but it’s hard to beat for consistently excellent food at a fair price. An all-French wine list has a particularly strong selection from Burgundy.
